Marlow - Our Wellbeing Dog
Marlow is our wellbeing dog here at Southville. Living with Miss Reed and having undergone training, he is onsite to help with:
- Making our school a happier place
- Making our school a calmer place
- Supporting people when they're upset, worried or nervous
Marlow is a Cavapoo - a Cavalier Spaniel and Poodle cross - and was born on the 21st March 2019. The loyal, kind and placid nature of these dogs makes him the perfect animal to help students and staff feel relaxed and calm while at school. He is also a low shedding breed which means he is hypoallergenic.
In July 2019 Marlow was awarded his Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Assessment. To achieve this, Marlow had weekly puppy training sessions with Jaqui from Paws in Harmony and ten Year 5 volunteer trainers in the June and July.
This ensures that Marlow is properly trained to be around children. He also has been adequately risk assessed.
